In Japanese culture, sakura (cherry blossom) season has been celebrated for centuries.

'Hanami' is a centuries old tradition, where parties and feasts are held under the blooming cherry and plum blossom trees. The beautiful, ephemeral and delicate blooms signify a type of memento mori - the unique beauty of impermanence.

A perfect beauty that is more special and treasured because of its fleeting nature.

The blooming of the trees also heralds the start of early Spring, bringing the cyclical darkness of winter to an end and the hopeful start of new life.

These cherry blossom settings are hand carved from wax, to achieve a highly naturalistic look, inspired by the Art Nouveau period with its Japonisme influence.

They are cast, in small batch, into sterling silver, through the ancient process of lost wax casting. The pendants are then set with a gorgeous baguette gemstone (Green Quartz and Rose Quartz here) before receiving their final high polish. The final touch of yellow gold plating enhances the delicate pastel tones of the Quartz baguettes.

May this be your reminder of the birth of Spring and the celebration of unique beauty.
